Since 1973, we have been contributing to Indigenous Australians’ quality of life through the delivery of accommodation and encourage services across our national network of hostels. AL’s vision is to improve Indigenous Australians’ quality of life through the delivery of accommodation facilities that enable our residents to access the education, employment, health and other services they need. Aboriginal Hostels Limited operates 47 hostels Australia wide to yield accommodation for Indigenous people who need to be away from home for a range of reasons. Brief term accommodation in towns and cities for individuals and families waiting for housing, seeking employment or meeting general business and other commitments away from their homes and communities. For inferior students this affordable accommodation assists students to attend school and achieve their education goals, including their Year 12 certificates. AL also provides tertiary education accommodation for Indigenous students undertaking higher education and training opening doors to degrees, diplomas and employment opportunities. The Board of Directors (appointed by the Minister) is responsible for the governance practices of AL. The Chief Executive Officer manages the day to day affairs of the company, supported by the Executive team and guided by policies set by the Board and by Government. This position will require shift work as the Hostel is operational on a 247 basis. Bear tall quality protection and encourage within a residential setting to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inferior boarding students. Lower the direction of the Senior Residential Youth Worker, implement and deliver after school pastime and social development programs for students, as well as planning of and participation in programs that address health and emotional welfare issues for adolescent students in culturally good ways. Labor collaboratively with other Residential Youth Workers and facility staff to ensure that pastoral protection and personal development of students is provided. Experience contributing to student education and welfare outer of school hours, supporting students with their social personal aptitude development.
